Paul GauguinOwned by Pacific Beachcomber S.C., the leader in French Polynesia luxury destination resorts, Paul Gauguin Cruises operates the award-winning luxury cruise ship m/s Paul Gauguin.

The m/s Paul Gauguin provides a luxury cruise experience tailored to the unparalleled wonders of Tahiti, French Polynesia and the South Pacific.

The renowned, 5+-star m/s Paul Gauguin was built specifically to sail the waters of Tahiti, French Polynesia and the South Pacific. Launched in 1998, the m/s Paul Gauguin is the longest continually operating year-round luxury cruise ship in the South Pacific. No other luxury ship in history has offered this level of single-destination focus and expertise on a year-round basis for such an extended period of time.

With over 25 years of experience in the French Polynesian tourism market, Pacific Beachcomber is the country's largest luxury hotel and cruise operator in the region. In addition to Paul Gauguin Cruises, Pacific Beachcomber operates five award-winning hotels. Sustainable development is the keynote of Pacific Beachcomber's projects, whose resorts are all Green Globe certified. Pacific Beachcomber is also currently developing a luxury eco-resort on the late actor Marlon Brando's private island.

Paul Gauguin - RenovationsThe m/s Paul Gauguin was designed specifically to sail the shallow seas of Tahiti and French Polynesia, visiting small ports that larger ships can't reach and effortlessly blending into the stunning natural beauty of the South Seas. She offers an extension of the informal, relaxing environment of the islands, coupled with five-star service, comfort, and luxury. Spacious suites and staterooms (more than 70% with private balconies), an onboard water-sports marina, a choice of three open-seating dining venues, and an extensive spa are among her luxurious attributes. The atmosphere aboard the ship radiates warmth, informality, and Polynesian flair. Local Tahitians who serve as cruise staff, entertainers, and storytellers—add the unique personality of Tahiti to every sailing.

Paul Gauguin Cruises completed a $7 million renovation to the m/s Paul Gauguin in January 2012– the largest in the ship’s 14-year history. Renovations throughout the ship include new flooring and replaced carpeting, elegant new furniture, new window treatments and decorative wall panels, and new signage, providing a lighter, brighter feel. Additionally, all suites and staterooms feature new fabrics, teak railings on the balconies, and new bathroom flooring.

With the renovation to the m/s Paul Gauguin there were also changes made on the culinary front. La Veranda offers guests a redesigned entrance, refinished indoor and outdoor furniture, and solar shades throughout. Le Grill boasts new decorative partitions and divider walls, as well as a new buffet area and new lighting. L’Etoile also features a redesigned entrance in addition to video equipment for conferences.

The Promenade Deck 5 on m/s Paul Gauguin now boasts a new built-in banquette and expanded casino in Le Casino, and Deck 6 received a new integrated display case for books and art. La Palette features a decorative stone band along the front of the bar and an updated lighting system, as well as new outdoor furniture. Le Grand Salon and La Palette offer refurbished dance floors to provide the perfect venue to dance the night away.

pg_ship_marinaDive into the blue and come face to face with a colorful parade of marine life, from magnificent parrot fish and clownfish to stately sea turtles. Your first dive into crystal-clear waters will spoil you for anything else under the sun ‒ or the seven seas. Water-sports are a highlight of the Polynesian experience, and the m/s Paul Gauguin is constructed to take full advantage of these irresistible waters, with accessibility to ports and adventures that other ships can't offer. Paul Gauguin - DivingThe ship's small footprint enables it to navigate lagoons that larger ships would never dare to enter. And the retractable, onboard Water-sports Marina brings you down to sea level, where you can hop aboard a windsurfer, launch a kayak, or embark on our Zodiac® for optional diving adventures.

Even if you've never been diving, you can take advantage of on board SCUBA lessons. The m/s Paul Gauguin is the only luxury ship in French Polynesia to offer PADI certification on board for novice divers. Classes are offered at all levels, from snorkeling to advanced SCUBA diving techniques, supervised by a staff of PADI dive masters. For the convenience of its guests, m/s Paul Gauguin has all the necessary equipment, including an air compressor to refill SCUBA tanks, on board.
